Data Clean Room

Controlled data collaboration environment

A data clean room allows several parties to compare or analyze data under controls that limit access to individual records and sensitive outputs.

When it applies
It applies to advertising collaboration, measurement, or audiences when parties cannot directly exchange personal data without additional protection.
What it is confused with
It does not automatically anonymize all data or replace a lawful basis. Query and output design determine much of the risk.
Architecture consequence
Before connecting it, define purpose, join keys, output controls, retention, and responsibilities between participants.
