CMP
Consent Management Platform
A CMP captures and stores consent choices and exposes signals so sites, tag managers, platforms, and destinations can enforce them.
- When it applies
- It applies when personal data is processed and several technologies must respond consistently to purposes, categories, or preferences.
- What it is confused with
- The banner is only an interface. Operational compliance also depends on blocking, propagation, records, and configuration in each destination.
- Architecture consequence
- Implementation should test every possible state from the initial choice through activation, including changes and withdrawal of consent.
