Consent Management Platform

A CMP captures and stores consent choices and exposes signals so sites, tag managers, platforms, and destinations can enforce them.

When it applies: It applies when personal data is processed and several technologies must respond consistently to purposes, categories, or preferences.
What it is confused with: The banner is only an interface. Operational compliance also depends on blocking, propagation, records, and configuration in each destination.
Architecture consequence: Implementation should test every possible state from the initial choice through activation, including changes and withdrawal of consent.
