The load is green. What about the campaign?

A load can finish without errors and still contain stale data. Operating AEP means following the data through to the decision that depends on it.

    The process finishes. That confirms a technical step, not that the source supplied its latest information.

    2. Wrong audience

    In this example, a recent purchase never reaches evaluation. The person remains in an acquisition audience.

  3. Unwanted activation

    2. Wrong message

    Delivery can succeed technically. The problem is the data that determined whom to contact.

A conceptual example, not a client incident. Check freshness against source timestamps, not just ingestion time.

Adobe provides sandbox health checks across areas including schemas, identity, datasets and segmentation. They require permissions. They do not define the business outcome you expect.

Monitoring and alerts complement each other

Monitoring lets you inspect dataflows. Alerts notify subscribers about specific events. Check product coverage and the subscriptions configured in that sandbox.

Alert subscriptions are managed per sandbox. Resetting a sandbox removes its subscriptions; recovery must include setting them up again.

How I would review it

  • Detect: agree what fresh data, expected volume and correct activation mean for each use case.
  • Diagnose: find the last correct point across source, ingestion, identity, audience and destination. Assign an owner to each hand-off.
  • Recover: decide whether to pause, correct or reprocess. Check duplicates and external effects before repeating a load or send.
  • Close: verify the final state and document which signal would have detected the problem sooner.

This is an operating approach, not an SLA. An audit identifies controls and gaps. Alert setup, flow fixes and recovery exercises require a separate scope.
