AEP architecture for an international education platform
Client: an international education ecosystem linked to a major banking institution
- Adobe Experience Platform
- Real-Time CDP
- Adobe Journey Optimizer: Decision Management (legacy)
- Web SDK
- Google Tag Manager
- OneTrust
- Query Service
The problem
Several business lines shared users, content, and interactions but needed to retain their own data and consent states. The new architecture had to unify identities, support personalization, and follow the corporate data model.
What I did
- As Data Solutions Architect, I designed the XDM model for profiles, events, content, and consent across the different business lines.
- I defined AEP schemas, datasets, identity namespaces, merge policies, data-usage labels, and ingestion.
- I implemented Web SDK and its GTM data-layer integration, including ingestion and identity testing.
- I designed the OneTrust-to-AEP integration, comparing batch and real-time alternatives before proposing the technical approach.
- I configured and validated personalization with AJO Decision Management, the legacy offer decisioning capability, including offer ranking and fallback behavior.
Result
- The AEP and AJO configuration passed testing in pre-production and production.
- The first use case was replicated in production, with its audience activated and QA completed.
- The consent design separated technical decisions from the pending validation of the corporate model.
